This 5-panel solar array supplies hot water for heating the Bastin home as well as for bathing, laundry, etc.
The system, installed in 1984, worked perfectly until 2008, when two of the panels started leaking after the house was re-roofed. We discussed repairing or replacing the panels that leaked, or updating the whole array with newer panels. The homeowner decided to replace all the panels.
We installed these flat-panel solar collectors and connected them to the interior heating system. The thermal energy from the panels warms 900 gallons of water to heat the home and provide hot water. This system is a great example of the power and durability of solar panels!
