Griggs' Dual Thermal Heating System

In addition to remodeling their home, the Griggs family opted to install a dual solar thermal heating system. Thirty evacuated tubes provide domestic hot water year round. In the winter residual heat is routed through a fan coil unit for space heating. This ground mounted system has heavily insulated piping to reduce losses. The evacuated tubes are automatically insulated as heat cannot move through a vacuum. Hence, any sunny day will work to provide the Griggs with hot water regardless of the temperature!
